Forward-Deployed Engineer

Role Summary

Work embedded with government and defence customers to configure, deploy, and adapt MSN's systems in the field, and to capture operational requirements first-hand. This is a hands-on technical role for an engineer who thrives close to the mission, solving real-world deployment challenges in demanding, often secure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support MSN's systems in the field with government and defence stakeholders
• Embed with customer teams on-site to capture operational requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in live, mission-critical deployments
• Adapt configurations and build integrations to meet field-specific needs
• Feed structured operational requirements back to engineering and AI teams
• Support field trials, pilots, and acceptance activities
• Document deployment patterns and field learnings for reuse
• Operate within security protocols for sensitive and air-gapped environments

Required Qualifications

• 4⁺ years in field engineering, solutions engineering, or a deployment-focused role
• Strong hands-on skills across systems, networking, and integration
• Proven ability to work effectively in demanding, customer-facing field settings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel to and work at field and defence sites
• Ability to work within strict security and access protocols
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying technology in defence, government, or field environments
• Familiarity with air-gapped or classified network environments
• Eligibility for the security clearances required for defence engagements
