Role Summary
Build the platform and backend that power MSN's systems, spanning air-gapped deployment, API gateways, geospatial & GIS data, and DevSecOps. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who can build secure, reliable backend services and deployment tooling for demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services, APIs, and platform components
- Implement air-gapped deployment tooling and secure delivery pipelines
- Build and maintain API gateways and service integration layers
- Develop geospatial database and GIS capabilities
- Implement DevSecOps practices across the build and deployment lifecycle
- Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with AI and specialist engineering on integrated systems
- Maintain infrastructure-as-code and deployment documentation
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong skills in backend development and API design
- Experience with CI/CD, containers, and DevSecOps practices
- Familiarity with geospatial data, GIS, or spatial databases
- Understanding of secure deployment and air-gapped environments
- Strong programming skills in relevant backend languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building for air-gapped, secure, or classified environments
- Experience with geospatial/GIS platforms at scale
- Familiarity with defence or government deployment requirements
